Every thread tells a story, and every story helps complete the flag.

The University of the Philippines Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (UPCWGS), in collaboration with the Department of Clothing, Textile, and Interior Design of the UP Diliman College of Home Economics and Babaylanes, Inc., invites everyone to join Stitching the Spectrum: Collective Rainbow Flag Project on 26 June 2026 (Friday), 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the UPCWGS Conference Room.

This event is a collaborative textile project that celebrates the diversity, resilience, and unity of the queer community. Participants are invited to donate pieces of colored fabric and help stitch them together into a massive, multi-textile rainbow flag – a collective artwork woven from our shared histories, identities, and experiences.

As we sew, participants will take part in facilitated conversations on Pride history, queer stories, and community building. Through every patch and every stitch, we create not only a flag, but also a space for connection, reflection, and solidarity.

Fabric donations are now open at the UPCWGS. If you are unable to attend the workshop, you may still contribute by dropping off colored clothes, fabric scraps, and other textile materials until June 25.
