
As part of its celebration of Women’s Month, the University of the Philippines Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (UPCWGS) conducted two batches of the Basic Makeup Workshop on 10 March 2026 at the UPCWGS Conference Room. The first batch was for participants ages 36 to 60+ while the second batch was for participants ages 18 to 35.
Centered on makeup as a form of self-expression and self-care, the workshop explored the evolution of trends, reframed makeup as a way to enhance features rather than conceal perceived flaws, and introduced different techniques depending on needs.
With the help of makeup artists Ida Siasoco and Mykee Siguenza, participants applied what they learned by recreating a look they conceptualized themselves, encouraging them to experiment and make mistakes.
