The University of the Philippines Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (UPCWGS) conducted Where the Body Speaks: A Poetry Workshop on Pleasure and Bodily Autonomy on 30 April 2026 at the UPCWGS Conference Room.
Facilitated by Dr. Conchitina “Chingbee” R. Cruz of the UP Diliman Department of English and Comparative Literature, the workshop brought together participants in a creative and reflective space where poetry became a medium for exploring pleasure, embodiment, agency, and bodily autonomy. Through guided writing exercises and thoughtful discussions, attendees were encouraged to express their lived experiences and imagine more empowering narratives about the body.
