The University of the Philippines Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (UPCWGS) was visited by students from Kwansei Gakuin University, Japan on 6 February 2026 for a meaningful exchange on gender issues and advocacy. Accompanied by their professor, Dr. Joe Takeda, the students learned about the Center’s programs and services.
The students shared their insights on women and gender issues in Japan, while UPCWGS staff discussed current challenges and movements in the Philippines. It was an enriching cross-cultural conversation, which hopefully made the students become more aware of current pressing feminist issues.
